Orthopedic Surgery Overview
Orthopedic Surgery at Beverly Hospital provides diagnosis, treatment and education for injuries and illnesses that affect the bones, joints and skeleton. Orthopedic surgeons perform all manner of conventional and state-of -the-art care, available locally without the inconvenience of traveling to Boston. Nearly all of our surgeons are fellowship-trained in their area of specialization and continue to expand their capabilities in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
NURSING EXCELLENCE
Patients benefit from nursing proficiency and experience, and close coordination between nurses in the operating room and on the floor. The operating room features an orthopedic-dedicated team of nurses and technologists.
POST-SURGICAL TREATMENT OPTIONS
The Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as outpatient audiology services. The Center's orthopedic and sports therapy care emphasizes:

For short-term orthopedic rehabilitation, there are two premier facilities to serve your needs - Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on the campus of Beverly Hospital and Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on the campus of Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. Both facilities offer:
- Superior rehabilitation programs coupled with outstanding nursing care resulting in increased positive outcomes and a quick return home
- Exclusive short-term rehabilitation units
- A multidisciplinary team approach to individualized care
- Close hospital proximity to facilitate care coordination and convenience
For those in need of homecare services, Northeast Homecare provides orthopedic patients 65 years and older with physical and occupational therapy and skilled nursing services. This homecare component complements the acute and outpatient rehabilitation Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals offer, providing seniors with a comprehensive system of orthopedic care, greater continuity of services and enhanced communication with hospital physicians and caregivers.
In addition, there is North Shore PRN, a private-duty homecare agency which also provides assistance and support to at-home seniors, simultaneously with Northeast Homecare or after benefits from Northeast Homecare cease.
