ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY
Knee Surgery
The knee is the largest joint in the body, and one of the most easily injured. Sports, work injuries, arthritis, or weakening of the tissues with age can cause wear and inflammation, resulting in pain and diminished knee function.
Several of our orthopedic surgeons perform knee surgery to partially or totally replace it, repair meniscal tears and torn ligaments and remove loose fragments of bone or cartilage. Our surgeons are skilled in the use of arthroscopy to diagnose and treat knee disorders. Arthroscopy, a minimally invasive procedure, allows the surgeon a view inside the knee to make a thorough examination and to determine the source of the problem. During the procedure, the surgeon can also insert surgical instruments through other small incisions in the knee to remove or repair damaged tissues.
